TROYTOWN WINTER DART LEAGUE

RULES OF PLAY REVISED AGM 25 SEPTEMBER 2024

 

COMMITTEE

The Committee will be made up of the following:

Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixtures Secretary and ALL Team Captains.

Any Player may voice their opinion at AGM BUT ONLY the Committee may vote on subjects discussed.

Dispute(s) brought before the Committee will be settled by majority vote.

The Team Captain(s) of any dispute may not be involved in any decision(s) reached involving their Team.

If the voting is a draw then ONE of the following Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Fixtures Secretary provided not in a Team(s) that is part of the dispute, will have an extra vote.

Only proposals submitted BEFORE the AGM will be discussed.

If a Committee member is not able to attend then they may give a Proxy vote to another member/player.

THE COMMITTEE DECISION(S) WILL BE FINAL.

REGISTRATION AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

Registration monies are to be paid BEFORE the league starts.

Subscriptions for the WHOLE season must be paid by the SECOND league game in the FIRST half.

 

A match shall consist of SIX players in any combination of males or females.

A match shall consist of six singles, three doubles and two trebles.

Only the result of the SIX singles wins shall count to the League Cup.

One point for each singles win. The team with the most points in the

Are the League Winners.

 

The result of the three doubles to count for the League doubles trophy.

One point for each doubles win.

 

The result of the two trebles to count for the League Trebles trophy.

One point for each trebles win.

 

All singles matches to be played the best of three legs – 301up, with a double start and finish. Order of play to be decided by throwing for the bull. Home team throw first.

 

All doubles matches to be played the best of three legs – 501up, with a flying start and double finish. Order of play to be decided by throwing for the bull. Home team throw first.

 

All trebles matches to be played the best of ONE leg – 701up, with a flying start and double finish. Home team to throw first.

Monetary Payments as agreed at AGM. All points from the Singles,

Doubles and Trebles to be added up for each team and payments paid out as follows:

1st £150.00 2nd £120.00 3rd £110.00 4th £100.00

5th £90.00 6th £80.00 7th £70.00 8th £ 60.00

 

In the event TWO or more teams drawing, the payment amounts will be added together

i.e. 1st and 2nd £270.00 = £135.00 each.

DRAWING OF PLAYERS FOR THE SINGLES,DOUBLES AND TREBLES

 

The draw for the Singles, Doubles and Trebles can be drawn as required.

Reserves can be played in any of the games.

Fee payable of £1.00 per singles player.

 

All players shall be properly registered before the league starts.

Sign On’s after the league starts will be in RED on the league results until the relevant fee is paid.

 

A team can sign on a player for League and Competitions on the night.

 

The Committee reserves the right to refuse the registration of any player.

 

The draw is to be made at 8.15pm (unless the 1001 is played then 8pm) play should start at 8.30pm.

If a player is not available to play when due to play, that game shall be played last or as agreed by the Captains, together with the doubles and trebles matches in which that player is drawn.

If late workers/arrivals the goodwill of all participants in the game to be taken into account as to the time by which the game will be played at the discretion of the opposing Captain with due regard to the spirit of the game.

 

Results of all matches shall be properly filled out on the sheet. W or L will not be accepted, it should be 2 – 0 etc.

A Ton or Ton plus is to be marked by an asterix (*) unless it is a Hight Outshot over 120 or 180 – Or High Away shot.

Both teams to make copies of the League Games results on the sheets provided and BOTH teams are to post their copy of the sheet on the Troy Town Dart League FACEBOOK page.

BOTH TEAMS TO POST THEIR RESULT SHEETS ON THE SAME NIGHT AS THE MATCH IS PLAYED.

No excuses will be accepted for late result sheets.

TWO points will be deducted from the teams results starting with the singles which will affect BOTH TEAMS points for late sheets.

 

In the case of any difficulty arising which cannot be settled prior to the match, the match shall be played, and the League Committee be consulted. The Committee will then decide on the matter whose decision shall be binding.

 

The throw shall be from the ockey or from a distinctly marked line 7 feet 9 ¼ inches from the front of the dart board and the thrower shall throw from BEHIND and not on the ockey or line. The centre of the board shall be 5 feet and 8 inches above the floor. The board shall be well illuminated. The “20” and the “3” shall be dark coloured. The dart board shall be in good condition with no bulges, broken or bent wires. Preferably Pubs/Clubs should keep a board as a match Board. Inspection of the board/ockey and lighting should take place by both captains before the match starts.

A players Shoe/foot is to be behind the ockey, NOT on the ockey.

 

The score shall be kept on a blackboard/white board well within the view of the throwing lines and shall be shown as examples below:

No indication of the required “double” shall be given by the marker i.e., “32 required” not “double 16” nor shall “double 16” etc be marked on the board. Other team members may tell the player how to finish.

The player and the chalker must agree as the amount scored before the dart(s) are retrieved from the board (a checker would be beneficial). A protest about the score attained but not agreed after the retrieval of the dart(s) may not be upheld. The player may consult about the score attained/left at anytime during their throw.

ALL requests by the player or others to check the score recorded must be made before that players next throw (once thrown – the score on the board stands), but not whilst the player is throwing.

The chalker shall be deemed the Match Official, whose decision will be final. Any problems with the chalkers decision, the match should be completed and the representation made to the committee, whose decision will be binding.

Any dart mistakenly thrown by a player after scoring the required “double” shall not be counted, as the respective leg, set or match is concluded by the dart scoring the required “double”.

Once a player has played three games for a Pub/Clubs team within the league that player is no longer eligible for transfer to another Pub/Club team. Prior to playing three games they may with consent of both Pub/Clubs and a further payment of £1.00 to the league funds be

transferred to another Pub/Club where Rule 12 applies. Any request by a player after the three games played to further transfer to be submitted to the Committee and if agreed a further minimum fee of £5.00 is payable by the player transferring.

Any team not turning up for two consecutive matches shall be forfeit all points in that half of the season. The defaulting team shall be liable for any expense incurred by the team(s) they were to play. Such an amount to be decided at a league meeting.

If a match has to be cancelled TWO WEEKS notice is to be given.

The rearranged match can be played PRIOR to the original date.

If not able to play prior to the original date this match must be played within 28 days.

The team that has been cancelled against will offer 3 dates to the cancelling team which must be within the 28 days.

The team that has been cancelled against will post the dates on the League Facebook page.

If there is a problem rearranging the game the Fixtures Secretary is to be informed and the committee will consult and make a decision whose decision will be final.

The Fixtures Secretary is to be informed of all cancellations and rearranged dates. This can be done verbally, text, email or Facebook.

 

NO cancelled League matches may be played on a competition night UNLESS the team(s) are not in the competition.

Teams my not decide to play a catch up game instead of playing in competitions. The committee will consult if this happens.

Any Team Captain (and the players) forgetting to inform their Pub/Club of the cancellation may be expected to cover the expense of food if the Pub/Club has already done/prepared the food.

The League shall present a perpetual trophy to the Lady with the most singles wins.

The League will present a perpetual trophy to the gentleman with the most singles wins.

Any player who scores “180” within the league Singles, Doubles and Trebles will be presented with a trophy or certificate.

“180” should be put as a “180” on the result sheet.

The Player with the Highest Checkout (above 120) (i.e. 140 out entered on the result sheet) within the league Singles, Doubles and Trebles shall have their name put on a perpetual trophy which will be presented to them.

The Player with the most Tons scored within the league Singles, Doubles and Trebles shall have their name put on a perpetual trophy.

The Player with the HIGHEST AWAY shot over 120 (i.e. 125 away shot recorded on the result sheet) will have their name put on a perpetual trophy.

If a Pub/Club has to close for whatever reason, players from that team may move to another Pub/Club. Players made sign up to another team within the league But only if this happens within the First Half of the league season and only after paying the relevant transfer fee.

The Team/Pub/Club will have to pay any monies owing to the league.

If a Pub/Club closes then the Troy Town Dart League trophies are to be removed and either taken to the new Pub/Club they are going to play for or given to the Fixtures Secretary.

Late signings must be confirmed on the Result Sheet to be registered and the relevant fee paid to the league. Players may be signed on a league AND competition night. Team Captains signing on a player for a competition night must make whomever is running the Competition Night is informed.

A subscription fee of £1.00 per singles player = £6.00 per team is payable.

LEAGUE AND COMPETITIONS

 

Teams not fulfilling both League and Competition games will have to seek re-election into the League at the next AGM and may not be given a competition if they do not play in ALL competitions. No team should play at home unless agreed at AGM.

 

COMPETITIONS. Teams who play in the preliminary rounds of a competition are expected to play with the same players in the following rounds. Only ONE player change may take place otherwise teams play with whatever players are at the competition(s).

Teams not turning up for the final of a competition lose any monetary

Payment and the trophy.

 

Monies from the registration of players for each competition to be paid out from TOTAL number of players entered in each competition at the end of the season.

 

MACKESON CUP – 7 PLAYERS

Each team will consist of SEVEN players. The match will consist of seven singles matches. All matches to be played the best of three legs. 1st up, with a doubles start and finish. Order of play to be decided by throwing for the bull. Alternate which player throws for the bull at the start of each match.

Matches to be played out in the order of the draw.

Winning team to inform the committee member who is running the competition.

Prelims and the Final to be played at a nominated venue on a Friday night or as agreed at AGM.

Entry fee of £1.00 per player.

 

1001 TROPHY COMPETITION

Teams to consist of SIX players. Matches to be played on a league night. The best of ONE leg – 1001up, with a flying start and double finish. A draw for order of play to be made. Order of play to be decided by the toss of a coin. Matches to be played on a nominated League night in the 1st half and 2nd Half unless as agreed at AGM.

Start of play must be 8pm. If the league match has to be cancelled in the first half which has the 1001 down to be played, then the league match and 1001 must be played within one week at the end of the first half depending what was agreed at AGM.

If the League match is cancelled that the 1001 is to be played in the second half then the match and 1001 must be played within 5 days of the end of the Second half depending what was agreed at AGM.

The Prelims, Semi’s and Final will be played at venues as agreed at the AGM. The final will be the best of 3 legs.

Entry fee of £1.00 per player.

 

 

ST AUSTELL TROPHY – 4 PLAYERS

A Team will consist of FOUR players. If a Pub/Club has enough players signed on they may enter more than one team. Pub/Clubs to inform the Fixtures Secretary if they are putting in more than one team so the proper draw can be made. No team to play at their home venue.

A Game will consist of: One team game of One leg of a – 1001up, with a flying start and double finish. Two doubles games the best of three legs -501up, with a flying start and double finish. Four Singles games the best of three legs -301up with a double start and finish.

The first team to win four of the seven games will be considered the winners. Order of play to be decided by the respective captains which when drawn will be played through as drawn i.e. no new draw for the doubles or singles. When one game of 7 is finished, nominating in the next game (change order team players) is up to the Captain.

To be played down to a winning team(s) at each venue(s). Winning team to inform the Fixtures Secretary/Committee member(s) running the competition at the venue(s). The Prelims and Final to be played at a nominated venue(s) on a Friday night or as agreed at AGM.

Players playing in the preliminary rounds are to play in any further rounds of this competition if through to the next round. If a player is unavailable for whatever reason, then a team may enter ONE reserve player who has not played in the preliminary rounds. If a team does not turn up for the final they shall forfeit the Trophy and any monetary payment.

Teams to register by 8pm. Entry fee of £1.00 per player.

 

TREBLES KNOCKOUT COMPETITION

A Team to be made up of three players per team. Pubs/Clubs may enter more than one team. Matches to be played the best of three Legs 501up, a double start and finish. Order of play to be decided by throwing for the bull. Matches to be played on a Friday night or as

agreed at AGM. To be played down to a winning team at each venue. Final to be played at a venue as agreed at AGM.

Players playing in the preliminary rounds of this competition are to play in any further rounds of this competition. If a player is unavailable for whatever reason then the team may enter ONE reserve player who has not played in the preliminary rounds. If a team do not turn up for the final they shall forfeit the Trophy and any monetary payment.

The Final will be the best of five legs. Entry fee of £1.00 per player.

 

LANDLORDS CUP – DOUBLES KNOCKOUT COMPETITION

Nominated pairs from each team. Pubs/Clubs may enter more than one team. Matches to be played the best of three legs -501up with a flying start and double finish. Order of play to be decided by throwing for the bull.

Players playing in the preliminary rounds of this competition are to play in any further rounds of this competition. If a player is unavailable for whatever reason then a team may enter ONE reserve player who has not played in the preliminary rounds. If a team do not turn up for the final they shall forfeit the Trophy and any monetary payment.

The Final will be the best of Five legs with a double start/finish.

Games to be played on a Friday night or as agreed at AGM. To be played at a venue(s) as agreed at AGM.

 

INDIVIDUAL CUP (PLAYER NOMINATED FROM TEAMS)

To be played on Finals night. One player from each team. Matches to be played the best of three legs -301up. Start and finish on a double.

Order of play to be decided by throwing for the bull.

The winning player will be presented with a perpetual trophy with their name on it. This trophy will stay at the Pub/Club they are playing for, for a year.

The Final will be the best of five legs.

 

DRAWN DOUBLES COMPETITION

This competition will be played on a Friday night and venue as agreed at the AGM. All players taking part will have their names put “in the hat” and a draw for each pair of doubles partners. After each round a new draw will take place of the players still in the competition.

Each game to be the best of three legs -501up, with a flying start and double finish.

To be played down to the final two teams and the final will be played on Finals night or as agreed at AGM. The winners and runners up will receive a prize as agreed at AGM.

Entry fee of £1.00 per player.

 

THE JUBILEE CUP

Registered players only. A special evening will be set aside for the evening at the St Blazey AFC (provided they stay in the league) for this competition. A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winner and runner up for them to keep in their Pub/Club for the next year. Matches will be the best of three legs -301up with a double start and finish.

Entry fee of £1.00 per player.

 

LEAGUE AND COMPETITION PERPETUAL TROPHIES

Perpetual trophies are to be kept in the Pub/Club the player is representing even if the Team/Player leaves that Pub/Club UNLESS that Pub/Club is closing for good, then if the team is moving to another Pub/Club they should take the trophies with them otherwise

they should be given to the League/Committee members.

MEMORIAL CHARITY NIGHT (If held)

The League will hold a Memorial Charity Night in remembrance of those players who have passed over the years. The night will be set at the end of the Winter season.

Matches to be the best of three legs. 501up, with a flying start and double finish or as agreed at AGM.

An entry fee of £1.00 is payable with a Raffle also taking place with the monies going to the Charity agreed. Or as agreed at AGM.
